I’ve been a crazed fan of the extraordinary maverick guitar genius since hearing him on John Peel in 1967. This was one of the first things I wrote for Record Collector in 2007, inspiring a compilation I put together for Ace Records 12 years ago that still hasn’t come out as they can’t clear all the tracks. He was quite a character. I was quite proud of this one.
